Markus is Professor of Economics at the Swedish Institute for Social Research at Stockholm University in Sweden. His research centers on income and wealth inequality, and poverty and socio-economic mobility, with a focus on cross-national comparisons. He is especially interested in the importance of family background in the distribution of economic resources.
