Tackling inequalities is set as a “political imperative” for the European Union
The Mapineq project is a collaborative effort to address this common challenge. We seek to advance the understanding of the trends and drivers of intergenerational, educational, labour market and health inequalities over the life course, to fill research gaps, and to identify policy factors and means to attenuate the trends of increasing inequalities.
Our research will contribute to:
1
Comprehensive understanding of the trends and drivers of intergenerational, educational, labour market and health inequalities over the life course
2
Evidence-informed policy dialogue at local, regional, national and supranational levels and efficient means placed at the best governance level to act to attenuate the trends of increasing inequalities
3
Providing a ground-breaking openly accessible, interactive Mapineq inequality database and a visualization tool that maps the inequality landscapes for the scientific community and researchers, policy-makers, and interest groups
4
Bridging together methodologies, new types of data and mapping technologies and frames and angles from different disciplines and contributing to the evolution of science and its approaches, methods, and insights within, across and beyond each of the disciplines associated
5
Enriching and upgrading discussions and dialogue with the society at large on tackling inequalities through the knowledge transfer, drawn from cutting-edge transdisciplinary research and the ground-breaking new research strategy and methodology
