Manuel is a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology II (Social Stratification) at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) in Madrid. His research spans inequality of educational opportunities, educational expansion, and social stratification. One strand of his work focuses on the configuration of educational expectations, and how individuals from different social strata adapt their expectations in response to academic inputs. A second strand focuses on the relationship between educational expansion and inequality of educational opportunities. His work has been published in journals such as Research in Social Stratification and Mobility, Social Science Research, or Educational Review.
