Melinda is a Nuffield Professor of Demography and Population Health and is Director of the Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science, University of Oxford and Nuffield College, UK. She is also a Professor of Data Science and Public Health at the Department of Economics, Econometric and Finance, Faculty of Economic and Business, University of Groningen and Department of Genetics, University Medical Centre Groningen, the Netherlands. Her research spans a range of interdisciplinary topics at the intersection of demography, sociology, molecular genetics and statistics. Her substantive research specialises in fertility and human reproductive behaviour, assortative mating, chronotypes, labour market, COVID-19 research and implications, life course and inequality.
