Profile

Elina is a Professor of Sociology at the Inequalities, Interventions and New Welfare State (INVEST) Flagship and leader of the University of Turku multidisciplinary theme Children, young people and learning. In 2023–24 she was the Vice Dean in charge of societal interaction and alumni relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her research focuses on social inequalities in education and the labour market, in particular those related to ethnicity, gender and social origin.
