Florianne is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Groningen. She has recently obtained her PhD (D.Phil) at the University of Oxford, prior to which she studied mathematics and econometrics. Florianne is passionate about addressing complex, real-world problems relevant to contemporary society. Hereby, she makes extensive use of advanced computational methods and innovative digital data. Methodologically, she is interested in (Bayesian) statistics, machine and deep learning, causal analysis, (agent-based) simulation models and big data manipulation. Her current research and substantive interests span socio-economic inequalities across the life course and different life domains as well as tracking digital global gender gaps.
